A customer required treatment of soil contaminated with a mix of hazardous compounds including benzene, toluene, sulfide, and other aromatic hydrocarbons. The contamination was located approximately 1–6 feet below the surface, making traditional excavation costly and disruptive.

Vapor Tech's CARBONIL ST was applied as an encapsulator and deodorant directly to the contaminated soil area. CARBONIL ST is specifically formulated to suppress emissions from contaminated soil without requiring excavation. The product penetrates the soil and encapsulates the volatile compounds, preventing them from off gassing into the surrounding air.

Measurable reduction in surface level VOC emissions was achieved, bringing the site into compliance without the expense and disruption of full excavation. The project demonstrated CARBONIL ST as a cost effective solution for in situ soil remediation.
